        When an instrument is finished, its musical range is yet to be discovered. Before it is delivered to the customer it must be played in a number of styles. This process is called \u201copening the violin\u201d and allows for the wood, a living matter, to understand and assimilate a wide range of notes. In some instruments the customer demands an aging threatment.
